Blightblood

Welcome to the Blightblood, a dark TTRPG game set in a city called Nulholme, similar in style to a post-revolution Paris. Nulholme is in turmoil, the new revolutionary government is running the city into the ground, military police roam the streets, and the people are running rampant, it is utter chaos.

To make things worse, a new avian-borne disease has begun spreading, dubbed The Crowblight by the residents of the Slums, where it began. This disease alters the genetics of the infected, either turning them into horrifying bird-like monsters called Corvids, or changing their entire genetic structure, giving them incredible superhuman abilities, these individuals are known as Blightbloods.

A Different Kind of TTRPG:

Blightblood was designed to have fairly speedy character creation, and have a fairly malleable world, so it is perfect for a One-Shot, while also being open to longer campaigns. Instead of having lots of different ability scores, Blightblood breaks down every action into 4 unique categories, Power, Grace, Mind and Soul. These are intentionally left up to your own interpretation, so you can have a good debate with your GM about what counts as what e.g. I lifted that boulder with sheer willpower, so that's a Soul roll for me.

The Wounds System:

Blightblood takes the classic RPG health system and flips it on it's head. Instead of having X amount of Hit points, you instead have 5 levels of Wounds, meaning that every character has an even chance of dying. This is because Blightblood was designed to be fairly realistic, in that if you get shot in the chest, even if you don't die immediately, you're definitely going to feel it.

Developers Note:

I am still in the process of ironing out some of the contents of the Rulebook. This is my first release ever, and I am open to any constructive criticism about Blightblood. The next version of Blightblood will be available here by the end of May 2023, so if you are interested, please keep an eye on this page.
